Interdisciplinary research group „Options for a future-oriented land-use of rural areas – LandInnovation“ - abgeschlossen

In the 18th and 19th century, the academies of sciences and humanities have been concerned with an improved use of rural areas many times. The work of the research group „LandInnovation“ ties up to this tradition, even though problems and approaches to solutions have changed considerably since that time. As land-use faces existential challenges especially in Eastern Germany, there is a strong demand for a scientific fundament regarding the future of peripheral areas. The overall aim of the research group is to develop a basic vision for the future of land-use in the Berlin-Brandenburg area.
